The Ronald Duncan Literary Foundation


The Ronald Duncan Literary Foundation is a charitable trust that exists to promote the work and achievements of Ronald Duncan. It further encourages creative excellence and advances causes the Trustees deem to be of value. This encouragement applies particularly to writing, poetry and performance.

The Trustees have recently sponsored events at Ways With Words (Dartington), the Ledbury Festival and the John Betjeman Poetry Competition, as well as grants to many other arts organizations and creative projects.


Grant Applications

The RDLF funds have for the immediate future been committed to two large projects, so we are currenty unable to grant any new bids.


We are supporting the literary programme of new writers and plays at Bristol Old Vic with a substantial grant spread over four years, to create a long-term legacy for Britain's oldest continuously working theatre. See News ...


The Duncan Foundation has also bequested a large donation to Exeter University to sustain its SouthWest writing collections and related research, a digitisation project to secure accessibility of archival resources, as well as a studentship and annual public lecture - all with the wider general aim to preserve and share Ronald’s legacy.
